Rev up your engines! The 17th annual Ole’s Ride is Saturday, August 22. This annual event serves as a tribute to Richard “Ole” Barten. Ole received care from HIA Hospice (formerly Hospice of the Red River Valley) in his final months before passing in February 2011.
To express their gratitude, Ole’s family started Ole’s Ride to support and give back to HIA Hospice. Ole’s Ride has raised more than $300,000 for HIA Hospice. With this support, HIA Hospice can bring the right care, in the right place, at the right time to more individuals in North Dakota and Minnesota.
There will be a bike show and pre-registration beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, August 21 at Billy’s Corner Bar in Vergas, Minnesota. Registration will also be available on Saturday, from 10-11:30 a.m. All registrations must be completed in person during these times.
The motorcycle ride begins at 12 p.m., and riders will travel through scenic lakes country in Minnesota.
The cost to participate is $25 per bike; an additional rider is $15. Registration includes a t-shirt, a meal, and opportunities to win door prizes at each stop along the route. After the ride, there will be a silent auction and live music performed by The Fat Cats.
