What You Can Dispose Of

Residents can drop off a variety of household hazardous waste items for free, including:

• Batteries (including lead-acid)

• Latex and oil-based paint

• Cleaners and solvents

• Lawn and garden chemicals

• Fluorescent lightbulbs (limit 10 per person)

• Sharps (need to be in puncture-resistant containers) Otter Tail County

Note: Business waste is not accepted at this event Otter Tail County.

Tips for Participation

• Bring your items in their original containers or in approved, labeled containers.

• Keep sharps in puncture-resistant containers.

• Limit fluorescent bulbs to 10 per person.

• Arrive early to avoid long lines, especially on the day of the event.

This event is part of the City of Vergas’ annual hazardous waste collection and is designed to make it easy and safe for residents to dispose of hazardous materials without transporting them to a landfill. 

If you plan to attend, it’s best to arrive before 10:00 a.m. to ensure you can drop off all items within the event hours.
